Have the Mudbugs showed their full hand early for a change? As for as the Bugs’s pulse being brought back to life, a second chance can have a way of renewing your ability to do your job, whatever it may be. You find out very quickly. Life is a matter of perspective and how we perceive it to be is tied directly into how we feel each day.

It was just a couple of months ago that the Mudbugs were on the brink of disaster, and just like a late 3rd period goal, the Mudbugs were given a chance to make things right.

So far I have to say the players the Mudbugs have signed have the potential of winning. What looks good on paper doesn’t always transfer over to success on the ice. Don’t get me wrong, I am positive about the signings so far as the rest of us Mudbug fans, but I reserve the right to see the picture as its being painted.

John DeCaro, was a huge signing that I challenge anyone to whether they saw that coming. John along with Kenny Carroll are my favorite Mudbug netminders since the merger of the Central Hockey League and the Western Professional Hockey League that began the 2001-2002 season. Which happens to be when I moved to Mudbug Country and was overcome with Swamp Fever.

With the signings of Carroll along with DeCaro should give the Bugs a nice 1-2 punch in net, BUT will it? There are questions about Carroll’s health. Kenny’s body has not held up over the last couple of seasons.

As far as “Johnny D” I expect to see him called up to the higher leagues a few times this season at they very least. The question is the length of time he spends on his call-ups?
